Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Matthew 5:4

The only thing holding me back,         is my own fear, my own resistance, my own indifference.                      No rest for the weary,                    No time to slow down.                   There is no time left, but now.           You cannot assume that tomorrow will always come.                           Someday, there will be no more grace periods,  nowhere left to run.    Your time will run out,                   Your mission will be done.                                 By  Feliesha Ann Ward
My mom is a survivor, or so I've heard it told.
But I can hear her crying, when all others are in bed.
I watch her lay awake at night, and go to hold her hand.
She doesn't know I'm with her, to help her understand.
But like the sands upon the beach, that never wash away...
I watch over my surviving mom who thinks of me each day.
She wears a smile for others.. a smile of disquise.
But through heaven's open door, I see tears flowing from her eyes.
My mom tries to cope with my death, to keep my memory alive.
But anyone who knows her, knows it's her way to survive.
As I watch over my surviving mom, through heaven's open door...
I try to tell her angels protect me forevermore.
I know that doesn't help her...or ease the burden she bears.
So if you get a chance, talk to her...and show her that you care.
For no matter what she says...no matter what she feels.
My surviving mom has a broken heart, that time won't ever heal.

MY MOM IS A SURVIVOR
                          A Mother's Plea
A wonderful life, full of strife. Young, talented, and intelligent, gone in an instant. The strain of going on, how do we endure such pain? Sometimes I think I'll go insane. But the Lord tells us, he will not give us anything we cannot endure. Does he believe in me, more than I?   Light a candle, pray for me, for her, for our eternity.  What's over there? Does anyone ever stop to care. Is this life more than we can bare?            I have many questions, if I dare.  But, first a hug and kiss from my angel, whom I know is waiting there.                                                By Tammy Cole
Remember Me
To the living I am gone,
To the sorrowful, I will never return,
To the angry, I was cheated.
But to the happy, I am at peace.
And to the faithful, I have never left.
I cannot speak, but I can listen
I cannot be seen, but I can be heard.
So, as you stand upon a shore,
Gazing at the beautiful sea-
Remember Me.
Remeber me in your heart,
Your thoughts and your memories
Of the times we cried,
The times we fought,
The times we laughed,
For if you always think of me,
I will never be gone from your side.

When tomorrow starts without me and I'm not there to see. If the sun should rise and find your eyes, all filled with tears for me. I wish so much you wouldn't cry, the way you did today. While thinking of the many things we didn't get to say. I know how much you love me, as much as I love you. And each time that you think of me, I know you'll miss me too. But, when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, that an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand. And said my place was ready, in Heaven far above. And that I'd have to leave behind, all those I dearly love. But, as I turned to walk away, a tear fell from my eye, for all my life, Id always thought, I didn't want to die. Had so much to live for, so much left to do. It seemed almost impossible that I was leaving you. I thought of all the yesterdays, the good ones and the bad. I thought of all the love we shared, and all the fun we had. If I could relive yesterday, just even for awhile. I'd say good-bye and kiss you, and maybe make you smile. But then I fully realized, that this could never be. For emptiness and sorrow, would take the place of me. And when I thought of worldly things, I might miss come tomorrow. I thought of you, and when I did, my heart was filled with sorrow. But, when I walked through heaven's gates, I felt so much at home. When God looked down and smiled at me, from his great golden throne, He said, "this is eternity, and all I've promised you. Today your life on earth is past, but here it starts anew. I promise no tomorrow, but today will always last. And since each day's the same day, there's no longing for the past. But, you have been so faithful, so trusting and so true. Though there were times you did some things, you knew you shouldn't do. But, you have been forgiven, and now at last your free. So, won't you take my hand, and share my life with me? "                                                           So, when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart, for everytime you think of me, I'm right here in your heart.

IN OUR HEARTS
We thought of you with love today,
but that is nothing new.                  We thought about you yesterday,   and days before that too.                  We think of you in silence,                we often speak your name.              Now all we have are memories,        and your picture in a frame.              Your memory is our keepsake,        with which we'll never part.               God has you in his keepsake,           we have you in our hearts.

                                                                              GOD'S LENT CHILD

"I'll lend you for a liittle while a child of mine," God said, "For you to love the while he lives and mourn for when he's dead. It may be six or seven years or forty-two or three, But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me?" "He'll bring his charms to gladden you and should his stay be brief, You'll have all your memories as a solace for your grief. I cannot promise he will stay, since all from Earth must return. But there are lessons taught below I want this child to learn." "I've looked this whole world over in my search for teachers true, and from the things that crowd life's lane, I have chosen YOU. Now will you give him all your love nor think the labor vain? Nor hate me when I come to take this lent child back again?" "I fancied that I heard them say, "Dear  God-Thy will be done. For all the joys thy child will bring the risk of grief we'll run. We will shelter him with tenderness, we'll love while we may, and for the happiness we've known forever grateful stay. But should thy Angels call for him much sooner than we planned, We'll brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand."

We'll Never Know All Of The Reasons                We'll never know all of the reasons, for the struggles we sometimes endure.
At times, God reveals his purposes.                 Other times we are not really sure.                   But we, as his children must learn to rely          on the one who provides our needs.                 For he knows what it takes to grow our faith,   like a tree grows from little seeds.                    Other times he may want to use our lives          for others to see his grace show.                      Because when we face our trials with God,      Our God they will want to know.                     Sometimes he lets us go through heartache,     but we end up much more refined.                   Then others see Christ when they look at us;    for his glory cannot help but shine.                   We'll never know all of the reasons                till we set foot inside heaven's doors.               But when we finally lay eyes on the glory of God , the reasons will matter no more.                                           By: Sheila Gosney

"Our Father, Who art in heaven,"hear this little prayer, and reach across from here to there, so I may feel much closer to those I'm fondest of, and they may know I think of them with thankfullness and love. And help all people, everywhere, who must often dwell apart, to know that they're together in the haven of the heart!                                                                  By Helen Steiner Rice
THE BROKEN CHAIN

We little knew that morning; God was going to call your name,       In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.                            It broke our hearts to loose you, you did not go alone,                        For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.              You left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide,           And though we cannot see you, you're always at our side.           Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same,               But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

Candles in the Night
Candles flame in darkness, flicker, steadily glow,
Bringing light from shadows, and help to soothe me so,
My daughter, like the candles, gave my life true light,
I use the candle's beacon, to connect us in the night.
As I light the candles, my wish she'll see my signal,
and know my love's expressed.
As her light joins my lights, our worlds touch and flame,
as I snuff out the candles, I softly say her name.
